Hello!  Thank you for checking out my website.

My name is Tim Volpe, and I am a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute as of March of 2009.  I majored in Interactive Media and Game Development, focusing on the Technical track, and graduated With Distinction.

I have previously earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (2001).

My goal is to get a job in the videogame industry as a software developer, ideally as a gameplay programmer or possibly a tools programmer, with an eye toward becoming a lead game designer or project manager.

Currently I am working as a QA Tester for Quick Hit, Inc.

Please check out my portfolio to see some of the projects I have worked on, including games, animation and comics.

I have several versions of my résumé online.

The personal section of this website is for showing off some of my other interests, links and other tidbits of information.

I’ve started a blog to share some of my experiences about the game industry, as well as explain some of my favorite games.

I’ve also left several ways of getting in touch with my via the Contact page.

03/10 – I made the WPI Dean’s List for the fall of the 2008-2009 academic year.  Additionally, as it’s the end of the term, we’ve put together the release versions of the games I’ve been working on, Hooping and Barricade.  See my portfolio for some more details about what I’ve done on those projects.

02/19 - I’ve updated my résumé, which I’m sure you’re anxious to read.

01/28/09 – Several items.  One, I’m excited to be working with Darius Kazemi of Orbus Gameworks and Tiny Subversions in an IMGD Master Class about personal branding.  We’ve updated our MQP project webpage to http://www.hooping-game.com – look for more updates coming from there soon.  Also, I’ve gotten back a reply, and it looks like I’ll be participating in the Global Game Jam at the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab.  Whoo!  And, I’ve signed up for a Twitter account, in case anyone’s interested.

10/28 – I took part of the IMGD Master Class series, under the tutelage of Ichiro Lambe of Dejobaan Games.
