Hoopsnake
This is a project for Global Game Jam 2012.
The theme for this year's projects was simply the image of an ouroboros, a snake eating its own tail. We took the theme in a more literal sense, building off a concept from American folklore, and applying a humorous slant. The game is a single-button side-scroller, where you have to guide the hoopsnake through obstacles, altering his size with the spacebar.
The game was written in Java using JGame/MarteEngine, with levels designed using the Tiled map editor. I worked on the animation and eating mechanic, as well as playing the audio. Read more about it in this blog entry.
